Paul Woods comes from a fine art background attending Art college for 2 years before leaving. Having worked as a professional screenprinter among other professions he always seemed to utilise computers to create artworks whether it was graphic design or 3d modeling or digital photography. Later adding multimedia to his skillset he embraced animation and music . Paul has illustrated a spanish poetry book drawing from photoshop collages. His work seems to enter and exit a computer's inputs and outputs a number of times before competition.
Photography became a major driving force in his creativity through webdesign and local camera clubs where he met and explored different styles. He shoots Mainly digital but most of the work represented here is personal, for fun he prefers to shoot film - the older and more unpredictable the better; often using an old dusty scanner and allowing parts of the negative's tracks to be exposed in the frame . Some examples of his commercial work are Fashion shows , events (behind the scenes documentary) , Street stunting , Fine art nude and High fashion . Often he finds the film cameras by his side while on down time and enjoys random acts of Photographic art .
Art cannot be distilled from the person creating it, whether its a wedding or an informal modelling shoot or random holiday snaps the photographer is the sum on their experiences. Film is like drawing with a pencil its so good to turn of the bloody computer sometimes and just shoot. Then again its is also nice to turn it back on and and play with the scans !
