Sponge Drops

Painting  Sponge drops Local Bakery here in Tralee Co. Kerry Ireland  O' Mahonys Make these famous little delights with fresh cream coloured icing and super light fluffy sponge cake. Truly worthy of a still life painting  Acrylic on canvas by P.Woods 2022  in 2023 I painted a second image with the same subject - different lighting and slightly bigger  2023

First painting in 6 years

This image is acrylic on Canvas just smaller than a3 and the canvas was stretched by myself on wood bought in tralee where I live. I often buy premade canvas as well but this was hanging around for over15 years. Got to love the black tacks though. Also the image is taken from a photograph I took playing with light to give the object, a munny doll pretty cool liking form depth and space on a 2d plane. I really love the shapes and shadows, painting looks super in the flesh. More to follow during the covid 19 lockdown of 2020, by Paul Woods

Paintings of Skulls by Paul Woods

New Skull painting March 2016 I have updated some of these paintings - after months 2 or so of looking at these and while starting another slightly larger one 10x12 in . I have added a few more glazes to the older paintings. Oh since taking these photos I have put a matte glaze to reduce glare, last thing is to frame these . 10x8in 10x8in 12x10 in 10x8 in
