The Calla Lily

Ever since I saw Imogen Cunningham's photos of calla lilies I have wanted to shoot some myself.  I think her black and white images of flowers are some of the most beautiful examples of monochrome works ever made. Their simplicity and effective light portray simple subjects with singular purpose far from the chaos of everyday life theses are bastions of calm and serenity that I consider true art . 



     So out shooting in a wonderful part of Kerry near Brandon point  Clahan I came across some lilies near the pier. Here are my images 3 of which have been influenced by her works but mine are slightly different and less real almost dreamy.  I would like to know what people think feel free to comment and download and share.

Georgia Salpa in Listowel Mermaids Co. Kerry Ireland

                              These pictures were taken at promotional evening in the Mermaids nightclub Listowel county Kerry on Sunday the 18th. Georgia and guest  DJ arrived by around 12. Where they were greeted by an eager crowd. While the guest DJ  warmed up the crowd in the night club Georgia tried her hand at serving the locals in the adjoining Mermaids bar. A dab hand at pulling pints and even slipping a few gills of spirts the way of the thirsty customers that had packed the bar to get a glimps of Georgia in her angelic petite white number and smart sparkling bling  timepiece . Soon it was time to head back to the nightclub where the DJ had whipped the crowd into a frenzey patiently awaiting their chance to meet and mingle with the top celebrity model. Thirsty work there was plenty of redbull and jagermister for jagerbombs on hand just in case Georgia needed some wings but she got straight to work with a pedigree and stamina of a true professional.
