Ever since I saw Imogen Cunningham's photos of calla lilies I have wanted to shoot some myself. I think her black and white images of flowers are some of the most beautiful examples of monochrome works ever made. Their simplicity and effective light portray simple subjects with singular purpose far from the chaos of everyday life theses are bastions of calm and serenity that I consider true art . So out shooting in a wonderful part of Kerry near Brandon point Clahan I came across some lilies near the pier. Here are my images 3 of which have been influenced by her works but mine are slightly different and less real almost dreamy. I would like to know what people think feel free to comment and download and share.
Paul Woods' main area of practice is photography. This was not always the case having a background in fine arts and computing his interests often collide in a digital space where music , video and animation are the best medium of expression : to captivate the widest possible audience should be every artist motto.
