Pinball theory

Humans are silver pinballs on silver pinball tables governed by the physics and gravity of our pinball table EARTH ! We are born from the free ball the product of our spherical parents and in this vast globe of a pinball table the very point of our birth our local area is of vital importance. This localised upbringing and the objects in direct vicinity that we rebound off shape our path in life.

This pinball table has a safety device or a training stage where influence of the paddles is curbed and curtailed so the influence of the local area and our parent spheres is slowly changed without our noticing. This is physics, this is predestination and inevitability – are we so governed by our surroundings that we fall between the paddles and are doomed to start over again or has the control of the paddles more of an influence on our destination. We are metal spheres that bounce, that have weight and inertia physically our encounters with game table objects should have a finite reaction and direction. This all happens quickly but maybe to the sphere through our spherical reality this takes a life time.

We as spheres are not alone, this is no ordinary pinball table there are others that have entered the game at different times from seconds to hours to days and beyond. The landscape or physical reality has been altered and optimised for prolonged gameplay but not excessive time duration after all the objective of all arcade pinball tables is to make money and this although unique and massive is no different though we as sphere shiny and round are blissfully unaware of this purpose.

Interaction between spheres in crazy ball moments where to the untrained view may seem like absolute chaos are actually mathematically and physically all too predictable – we have no choice we are bounced around by the paddles and rebound of each other. This being no ordinary pinball table with scale construction like no other – as spheres large and small adult and child we have gravity or magnetic properties our interactions are like that of the planets and heavenly bodies influenced by forces invisible and physical. We circle our parents from the start, we circle our teachers and fellow class mates in solar system like patterns while still at the mercy of the paddles and obstacles . All this is relative yet as balls that roll on a two dimensional grid we have no idea of the world of the paddle master. The purpose of the game or the high scores yet we cannot be thought of as separate from this greater purpose.

You only think you know your world and your purpose is truly beyond comprehension in the greater scheme of existence but on a local level you're doing fine and are happy so lets not throw a spanner in the works. The project is about a safe and fun pinball table not actually making money but who knows what is what relatively speaking, especially if we are but round balls of steel as I have said. Our plight to understand our surroundings and stay on the table are ultimately in conflict what can we do to keep both goals in mind.
